Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

This class integrates the different aspects of the art such as self-defense, striking, take downs, sport competition and street self-defense applications.  All students receive a well rounded education in the philosophy of this revolutionary Martial Arts.  Focus and attention is structured to help beginner students understand the importance of relaxation, technique and strategy.  At the end of each class, students have the opportunity to train the chokes, arm locks, leg locks, positions and escapes with instructors and other students in a safe learning environment.  Come see why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the United States Military.

 


 

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

In this adult class, students learn to apply different striking and grappling styles from Thai Boxing, to Western Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Safety is a major foundation in this type of training. Attention is geared at understanding how to use equipment properly and use applications of striking and grappling safely. Students will develop better form, power and endurance in all phases of fighting in a realistic way. An energized and all over body workout is felt throughout the MMA class, from the circuit training, technical drills, sparring sessions, and endurance routines. All new students must first take a short assessment of his or her abilities. The assessment includes: the familiarity of training equipment such as the speed and heavy bag; knowledge of grappling and ground fighting; and his or her stand up striking ability and self-control. The students assessment will be evaluated by two academy instructors.

 


 

 MMA Striking (Muay Thai/Boxing)

In this adult class, students learn to apply different striking styles from Thai Boxing to Western Boxing. Safety is a major foundation in this type of training. Attention is geared at understanding how to use equipment properly, partner drilling safely, and use applications of striking safely to develop better form, power and endurance. An energized and total body workout is felt throughout the MMA Striking class, from the circuit training, technical drills, sparring sessions and endurance routines. In this class you will learn octagon and ring control, boxing techniques and strategies, power rear leg kicks, effective use of front leg kicks, clinch work, use of training pads, elbow/knee/punching skills, and so much more. 

 


 

Submission Grappling (NO-GI)

In this class, students learn to apply different grappling styles from Western Wrestling to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Based on the nature of the class leg locks and Russian Sombo (Sambo) are explored. Everything from the setups to the finish is broken down to the finest detail so the students can apply what they have learned in a variety of situations. Attention is geared at understanding the rules and applications of grappling without relying on a kimono (Jiu-Jitsu/Judo uniform). In this class, students wear shorts and a t-shirt.

 


 

Mixed Martial Arts for Kids

The MMA Kids classes are designed to help each student learn important life skills so that they may be successful in all areas of life, including; home, school, social gathering, etc. Through fun and strategically planned lessons, students will learn self-defense strategies that include the ground fighting techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the stand up fighting techniques of boxing, and the kicking techniques of Karate. Upon completion of the MMA Kids program, every student will walk away with a greater sense of self-worth, increased focus and discipline, and a higher level of respect for themselves and those around them.
